Working on behalf of Culture Ireland and the Arts Council, the Commissioner and Curator will together deliver Ireland’s national representation at the event.
Expressions of interest are invited for the role of Commissioner for the 13th International Architecture Exhibition, La Biennale di Venezia.
CORBAN WALKER is used to the stares. He gets them every day, and he gets them everywhere he goes, because people do not expect a man to look as Walker does. They do not expect a man to stand four feet tall. So they stare. It’s predictable, says Walker. It’s boring. It’s “very, very repetitive”. But it’s also fascinating, he says.

Minister for Arts, Heritage and the Gaeltacht, Jimmy Deenihan T.D., was joined by over 100 artists, curators and invited guests at the launch of Ireland at Venice, Ireland’s representation at the 54th International Art Exhibition, which took place at the Irish Museum of Modern Art on Tuesday 10th May at 6pm. Corban Walker has been selected as the artist who will represent Ireland at the Venice Biennale, with Commissioner Emily-Jane Kirwan and curator Eamonn Maxwell.
