Emily-Jane Kirwan is from County Limerick, Ireland. She received a B.A. and M.A. in Art History & English Literature from Trinity College Dublin, and graduated from University College Dublin in Arts Administration studies. After graduating, she worked at The Limerick City Gallery of Art and then became the Arts Officer for South Dublin County Council, a local government authority in Ireland where she curated and organised exhibitions, awarded grants to artists, and managed an innovative multi-disciplinary public art programme, during which she first worked with Corban Walker to commission a major outdoor permanent public installation for the local authority.Since moving to New York she has worked with artists including John Baldessari, William Kentridge, Kiki Smith,Keith Tyson, Tara Donovan, Corban Walker, Jim Dine and Tim Hawkinson, at two of the most renowned contemporary galleries: formerly as the Associate Director of The Marian Goodman Gallery, New York and now as a Director of The Pace Gallery, New York.
